Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect data for employer and employee accounts.
Last updated: September 10, 2026
1. Overview
WageClock ("WageClock", "we", "us") is a workforce attendance and wage-clock platform used by businesses ("Employers") and their staff ("Employees"). This policy explains what information we collect through the app and dashboard, why we collect it, and how it's protected.
2. Information We Collect
Account & profile information: name, email, employee code, designation, joining date and the office location an employee is assigned to.
Location data: GPS coordinates are captured when a punch in/out event occurs, and periodically while an active session is open, so it can be checked against your employer's registered office location and geofence radius.
Device & session data: device identifiers, connectivity ("heartbeat") status, and safeguard events such as location being switched off, permissions being changed, mock-location detection, or the app being reinstalled.
Attendance & wage data: punch-in and punch-out timestamps, computed working hours, salary type and calculated pay, generated from the records above.
3. How We Use This Information
- To verify that a punch in/out happened within an employer's registered office location.
- To automatically open and close attendance sessions (for example, when someone leaves or re-enters a geofence).
- To calculate hourly, daily or monthly wages from verified attendance.
- To alert employers to activity that looks like an attempt to fake location or tamper with a device.
- To generate attendance and payroll reports for the employer's own records.
4. Location Data & Your Control
Location access is required for the app's core function — verifying where a punch happened. If location services are turned off or permission is revoked, your employer is notified, since it directly affects whether attendance can be verified. Location is not collected outside of active punch sessions.
5. How Data Is Shared
Attendance, location and wage data collected under an Employer's account is visible to that Employer and the Employee it belongs to — it is not shared with other companies using Punch, and we do not sell personal data to third parties. Data may be disclosed if required by law or to protect the rights, property or safety of Punch, our customers, or the public.
6. Data Retention
Attendance, device event and wage records are retained for as long as the associated Employer account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to satisfy payroll, tax and legal record-keeping obligations.
7. Security
Access to attendance and wage data is scoped to each Employer's own company, and administrative actions (such as creating employee accounts) are restricted to authorized roles. We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect data in transit and at rest.
8. Your Rights
Employees may request a copy of their attendance and wage records, or ask their Employer to correct inaccurate information, at any time by contacting their Employer or reaching out to us directly using the details below.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
